My tears are no answer,
To the pains that you have suffered,
So large is the world,
And so large is its suffering.
From your deep eyes,
I can fathom your hunger,
The slow churn of losing hope,
And the dark embers of growing despair.
I have been a miser,
Throwing away money at your face,
Hoping your illusion will go away,
Hoping I have done my duty.
It is my love that you seek, not money,
A hope of a future is what you really want,
Alas, I’m going on the path that many before me have tread on,
To keep my eyes shut and blame it on fate.
